There are plenty of things to do without ever leaving Alden's Acres:

If you do decide to head out for the day, we are within minutes of so many attractions, you won't be able to decide what to do first:

Allegany State Park:  Bridle trails, 3 lakes, picnic areas, hiking trails, boating with launching facilities, beaches, bird-watching, tennis courts, roller blading, snow mobileing, snow showing, cross country skiing, fishing, ice fishing, museum. (10 miles) 

Antiques:  Green Gables Antiques (1 mile), Bear Hollow Antiques (1-1/2 mile), Salamanca Antiques Mall (3 miles) plus others.

Sequoia Indian Reservation:  See there website for a variety of year-round activities, plus the new Seneca Allegany Casino.  Located in the town of Salamanca (5 miles)

Golfing:  Little Valley, Holiday Valley Golf Resort

Horseback riding: f you are vacationing with your own horse, be sure to check out the area trails.

Ellicottville:  Spend the day shopping in the unique shops, have lunch at one of several restaurants in the heart of Ellicottville's quaint downtown.

Lake Chautauqua:  boat and jet ski rentals, beaches, fishing, water-side restaurants & bars (35 minutes)

Chautauqua Institute:  concerts, lectures, beach, restaurants in a beautifully historic setting (45 minutes)

New York State Land:  Plenty of trails for horses, mountain biking, hiking, picnic areas (3 miles)
